United Arab of Emirates, Dubai –August 7, 2019: Looking to expand its portfolio of themed-events, Spacetoon Event has recently announced signing a licensing deal with Mattel to launch Mattel branded live events in MENA.
The collaboration includes Barbie™, Hot Wheels™, Thomas & Friends™, Fireman Sam™, Bob the Builder™, Barney™ and MEGA BLOCKS™, in addition to the Mattel games portfolio including UNO™, PICTIONARY™ and SCRABBLE™.
Commenting on this partnership, the General Manager of Spacetoon Event, Ahmad Weiss said: “The diversity found in Mattel’s portfolio provided us with the opportunity to deliver new experiences to MENA. Our goal now is to reinforce the success of these brands in the region by organizing entertaining events that could attract kids and families and turn into the best entertainment destination.”
The results of this partnership have already started to take place on the ground, as General Entertainment Authority “GEA” in Saudi Arabia chose the Eid Season to kick-off several events and corner activities across a number of malls in Saudi Arabia.
Remarkably, the Dubai-based company in cooperation with “GEA” has made a great impact in KSA with a Barbie branded activity area, which is a part 2016 of the brand’s global campaign “You Can Be Anything” that was initiated in to inspire the limitless potential in every girl. The event included several STEM based activities reaffirming that girls can be anything they want.
Spacetoon Event is planning to expand and develop its varied activities after achieving a remarkable success with the GEA during Eid season, which recorded a high number of visitors. Currently, the company is preparing to participate in the Jeddah Season.
Spacetoon Event owns the licensing rights of many international brands so far, and the company resembles a continuation of Spacetoon T. V’s success as the first Arab Kids’ channel that is viewed by more than 200 million Arabs around the world.
